My aim......

.......is to make women feel beautiful in their own skin and to help create an experience that makes you feel empowered, confident and free. To create beautiful images and to give you a wonderfully memorable and enjoyable experience. Remember, there is nothing seedy about boudoir photographs. They are beautiful, artistic and very classy. Something you'll be very proud of.

Q & A

'What can I expect at my boudoir photo shoot'?

Music, chocolate and lots of giggles to start with.       A photoshoot can be a bit of an overwhelming experience, even for experienced models. But don’t worry, I'm happy to do a personal consultation with you to discuss your requirements well before the day of the shoot. This can be over a coffee somewhere or over the phone. This helps break the ice and will help you feel more relaxed on the day. And, if you wish I can put you in touch with a couple of my previous clients so you can ask them about their photo shoot experience with me. The more relaxed you are on the day, the better the photos will be. There isn’t a model on the planet, amateur or professional, who doesn’t get a little bit nervous before a shoot. It's perfectly normal. But you really can do it and when you see your finished images you'll be so pleased you did. Rest assured, I have two main priorities. 1. To get some great photographs of you and 2. That you have a thoroughly enjoyable time. My shoots are always very chilled, relaxed and fun with lots of laughs.

'Where can I have my photo shoot'?

Your photoshoot can take place anywhere you like. It can be in my studio (not quite ready yet), a different studio, your own home, outside, a hotel room or a friend’s house. Even a beach. Most prefer to have the shoot at their own home, but the choice is entirely yours.

It can also depend on the type of lighting required for the shoot. There may be a lot of large lights, while outdoor photoshoots rely mainly on natural light rather than an artificial light setup.

Venue Pros and Cons

STUDIO PROS: Private, excellent lighting, not dependent on the weather.  STUDIO CONS: More expensive, limited scenarios, locations and props, time limit depending on booking time. If you choose to have your shoot in my studio when I've finished setting it up then there are no cons at all

HOME PROS: No extra costs. Private, not weather dependent, no travel expenses, more relaxed in familiar surroundings, more rooms to use, endless lighting possibilities, props and wardrobe readily to hand. HOME CONS: I can't actually think of any.

HOTEL PROS: Private, no time limit, usually good lighting, versatile, a good alternative if a home shoot is not possible. HOTEL CONS: Adds a bit to the cost although a day-use room can be pretty cheap in the winter months.

LOCATION (outdoors) PROS: Endless themes, backdrops and scenarios, natural lighting. LOCATION (outdoors) CONS: Very weather dependent, possible spectators or just general interruptions from the public.

'How long will my photo shoot last'?

I have done shoots that lasted eight hours but in general, the average is roughly two to four hours. This isn’t set in stone. I never just bring the shoot to a halt when the time is reached. If things are going well and you're enjoying yourself I may well just keep shooting but you will never pay more than the pre-agreed price. It can also depend on many different factors such as breaks, adjusting lights, backdrops etc. Remember, too, that this time will also include outfit and/or costume changes, hair styling and make-up application.

'But I've never done it before and I don't know how to pose'

Don’t worry. The vast majority of my shoots are with first-time clients. I will guide and direct you through the entire shoot. There will also be plenty of diagrams, posing charts and books at the shoot to assist you. I may even make a complete plank of myself by showing you how to do the pose. You can also practice before the day by taking a few selfies with your phone’s timer function or even ask a friend to take photos of you.

'Can I bring a chaperone to the shoot'?

If this is a solo shoot with just you as the subject then I would prefer you didn’t.  But if you really must then I will allow a female chaperone. I'm afraid I do charge a little bit more if you want your hubby or boyfriend in the room. In my experience shoots go a lot better if hubbies or boyfriends are not present. They do tend to distract and restrict the creativity of both the model and the photographer, albeit often unintentionally. Models tend to keep looking over at hubbies/boyfriends for approval. To get the best shots I will need you to concentrate on me and the camera, no one else. The shoot is for you to let loose. For you to feel empowered and free. It’s all about you and only you.

'Should I wear make-up'?

Yes definitely. You can do it yourself or maybe treat yourself to a make-over. At extra cost I can bring in a hair and make-up artist for you (if she’s available on the day) or you can bring your own hair and make-up artist. But remember that if it's a boudoir shoot then perfect hair can look a bit odd. 'Bed-head' looks so much better. If you do your own make-up, then please don't apply it too thickly. Remember, I can always remove any unwanted beauty spots or blemishes in your skin in the editing process.

'What do I need to bring to the photoshoot'?

Props are always a good way to enhance photos. I will provide you with a list of ideal props and items you might want to include well before the day of the shoot..

'That all sounds perfect so how do I book a shoot'?

It's very simple to book your shoot. Just email me or call me. We can sort out a time and place for your free consultation if you require one. You will be required to pay a non-refundable 25% deposit at the time of booking your shoot with the balance being paid on or before the day of the shoot. Once you have paid the deposit then that date is all yours.

And finally….

This may all sound a bit overwhelming, but it really isn’t.  You may initially be a bit nervous but I guarantee you will soon relax into it and once you've realised I'm not a mad axe wielding maniac any nerves will disappear. All you need to do is look your best, enjoy yourself and leave the rest to me. In no time at all you’ll spread your wings and feel confident, liberated, empowered and free. Having a photo shoot is a real confidence booster especially for people who are usually a bit shy. Let me show you just how beautiful you really are. The result will be a stunning set of photos you'll be proud of. But most importantly of all I want you to.........

Just have fun

And once again, there will be chocolate.
